A Guide to Living in The Manchester Beetham Tower 2 Bedrooom Apartments

!±8± A Guide to Living in The Manchester Beetham Tower 2 Bedrooom Apartments

City of Manchester

In the United Kingdom, Manchester is pretty much the Northern version of London town. It's an excellent city with many land marks one of which is the Beetham Tower. This is a 47 story high sky scrapping tower that took about 9 architects to design and has housed most of the Manchester elites from celebrity footballers to young hot shot professionals.

Beetham is situated right in the city centre of Manchester and is made up of the Hilton Hotel, the sky bar and the residential apartments. Floors 6 -23 comprising of the Hilton Hotel, floor 24 and 25 housing the prestigious ''cloud 23'', floors 25 - 46 is made up of the residential apartments and floor

Understanding the Beetham Tower Apartments

Now living in this tower can be confusing if you don't know what you're doing or if you are new to the city. Let's face it we all want the bigger apartments especially if we want a two bedroom apartment so let me tell you how it works in Beetham.

Each floor ranges from apartment 01 to apartment 11. Apartment 01 is the studio apartment and is the same on every floor for instance apartment 2501 on floor 25 apartment 2601 on floor 26. However, as this guide is for 2 bedrooms that's exactly what shall be dealt with.

Which View Do You Want?

The building is 47 floors high there is an awe inspiring view of Manchester city and at night this view really comes to life. Most estate agents know this the main bargaining chip and unique selling point of this building and they will sell this to you in ways you've never even realised were possible. The North facing view which I generally prefer overlooks the city centre itself and also faces the Manchester City stadium which you can see even from floor 25. The South facing view at night is not as nice in my opinion but you do get to see Manchester United stadium with this view.Different people have different tastes but left to me I would always go for the North View which is the city view.

Which Apartment Do you Want?

Now that we've established the North side and South side it is time to address the apartments themselves the biggest apartment plots tend to be the 11 plots for instance on floor 35 it would be 3511 and on floor 30 it would be 3011 if you were a first timer moving in I would say these 11 plots would be your best option and yes they are North facing looking at the view of the city. Not to mention if you have a landlord/lady who has a sense of style the decor of the apartments tend to be amazing as which is an added bonus. The next best 2 bedroom apartments in terms of size are the plot 10s for instance on floor 29 it would be 2910 again these are well sized and have the preferred view of the city.

Now for the corner pieces which are 02 and 09 on the North Side and 03 and 08 on the South Side. Some people tend to like these apartments better as they tend to give you both views but more of one side than the other side. For instance, if you live in 4003 you'll get predominantly the South view and a bit of the North view. However if you live in 4002 you'll predominantly get the North view and some of the South view. An advantage of the South facing apartments is that you get a balcony but like I said because of the view it's not as nice however if you want a compromise with a taste of both worlds then a South facing corner piece would be your best bet.

The Price to Rent and How to Reduce it.

Everybody's favourite aspect is indeed NOT the price. A lot of the Estate agents while selling you the view will state the £1300 or £1200 asking price as the norm. Yes there are some that go for £1400 to £3000 but if you're viewing those apartments to start off with then you really shouldn't need this section. Truth is you can find apartments for less than that even an 11 plot for £1000per month as recent as July 2010.Like anything worth doing you have to do it well so search get a full list of all the city centre estate agents in Manchester and call them. Obviously if you get one of the £1200 per month estate agents you can indeed haggle the price; you have the option of saying you'll pay the whole price upfront or you'll pay certain amount upfront or that you know that a plot 11 is 956 sq feet so since this is a smaller apartment you want some compensation or if the apartment isn't coming with parking say that they should deduct that or if does come with parking and you don't drive you can easily find people within the building looking for spaces to rent which you can rent at £100 to £150 per month. Ultimately think of it as a business and its the landlords/ladies business as well as their final decision that really matter.

The Concierge

Finally just to mention a note about the Beetham staff, the concierge are actually 24/7 very efficient extremely professional and always willing to help. They take your comfort and security very importantly so be rest assured that if you do move into Beetham you will be well taken care of.

I hope this article has been a useful guide for anyone moving into the Beetham Tower in Manchester and picking an apartment there, best of luck with the move and don't worry the elevators have so far always been working.

The Best PC Speakers

!±8± The Best PC Speakers

To be totally immersed into your gaming world you need several features that you personal computer should have. One of them is the surround sound speakers that can improve your gaming experience to a level that you believe is acceptable.

If you are considering the grand purchasing of some decent gaming speakers then you should seriously take into consideration the following characteristics.

Surround sound is an option that can not be ignored. A 5.1 surround sound system provides you with 5 speakers and a sub woofer that will take you to a whole new level of gaming. If you position these speakers correctly you will fell exactly like you are in the game and you will be surrounded by sounds and vibrations that will take you right in the middle of the action.

An amplifier option will help the sounds released by your speaker take a new measure. Most sound cards do not have this option included so you will have to purchase a system that has an amplifier included in the base construction. The amplification is gaged in watts per channel RMS which means root mean square and it will determine directly the power of amplification. The higher watts per RMS count, the better.

Another very important aspect to keep in consideration when buying a surround sound system is THD. THD means total harmonic distortion of the amplifier and they can offer a 1 or 2% increase in sound quality. Again the same principle applies and that is... the higher, the better.

If you are looking for the best gaming experience that you could have than one of the most important components you could add to your personal computer is a good surround sound system.

Polk makes many kinds of things for your audio system. It would take a long time to discover the many different types of audio features you can receive. The soundbar is a nice item that is easy to use and gives good sound. Here are some things you may wish to consider on this Polk speaker review.

The soundbar is a simple yet effective concept. All of your speakers are located in a single bar. There is no need to have speakers all over the room. The items can be easily positioned under your television. You may also wish to have them to the side.

Polk makes several different types of soundbars for your system. Soundbars are a notch up from standard television speakers. You will have improved sound this way. The lower priced unit comes with a speaker and a wireless subwoofer. You can use the television remote to adjust volume. They match together and will look well alongside of your TV. Consumer Reports - Speakers

!±8± Consumer Reports - Speakers

The best array of audio or video components will let you down if matched with poor-quality speakers. Good speakers don’t have to cost a bundle, though it is easy to spend a lot. For a home-theater system, you can start with two or three speakers and add others as need and budget allows. Size is no indication of quality

WHAT'S AVAILABLE

Among the hundreds of speaker brands available, the major names include Altec, Bose, JBL, KLH, Pioneer, Polk Audio, RCA, and Sony, and Yamaha. Speakers are sold through mass merchandisers, audio/video stores, and “boutique” retailers. You can also buy them online, but be prepared for shipping charges of up to 0 because speakers can be fairly heavy.

Speakers are sold as pairs for traditional stereo setups, and singly or in sets of three to six for equipping a home theater. To keep a balanced system, buy left and right speakers in pairs, rather than individually. The center-channel speaker should be matched to the front (or main) speakers. For the best sound, the rear speakers should also have a sound similar to the front speakers. The front speakers supply the stereo effect and carry most of the sound to the listener’s ears. The center (or center-channel) speaker chiefly delivers dialog and is usually placed on top of or beneath the TV in a home-theater setup. Rear speakers, sometimes called surround or satellite speakers, deliver ambient effects such as crowd noise. A subwoofer carries the lowest tones.

Price range: under 0 to over ,000.

Bookshelf speakers. These are among the smallest, but, at 12 to 18 inches tall, many are still too large to fit on a typical bookshelf. A pair of these can serve as the sole speakers in a stereo system or as the front or rear duo in a home-theater setup. One can serve as the center-channel unit, provided it’s magnetically shielded so it won’t interfere with the TV. Small speakers like these have made strides in their ability to handle deep bass without buzzing or distortion. Any bass-handling limitations would be less of a concern in a multi speaker system that uses a subwoofer to reproduce deep bass.

Price range: 0 to more than 0.

Floor-standing speakers. Typically about 3 to 4 feet tall, these large speakers can also serve as the sole speakers in a stereo system or as the front pair in a home-theater system. Their big cabinets have the potential to do more justice to deep bass than smaller speakers, but we believe many listeners would be satisfied with smaller speakers that scored well for bass handling. Even if floor models do a bit better, their size and cost may steer buyers toward smaller, cheaper bookshelf models.

Price range: 0 to more than ,000.

Center-channel speaker. In a multichannel setup, the center-channel speaker sits on or below the TV. Because it primarily handles dialog, its range doesn’t have to be as full as that of the front pair, but its sound should be similar so all three blend well. Dedicated center-channel speakers are short and wide (6 inches high by 20 inches wide, for instance) so they perch neatly atop a TV.

Price range: 0 to over 0.

Rear-surround speakers. Rear speakers in a multichannel setup carry mostly background sound such as crowd noise. Newer multichannel formats such as Dolby Digital, DTS, DVD-Audio, and SACD make fuller use of these speakers than did earlier formats. You’ll get the best blend if the rear pair sounds similar to the front pair. Rear speakers tend to be small and light (often 5 to 10 inches high and 3 to 6 pounds) so they can be wall mounted or placed on a shelf.

Price range: 0 to over 0.

Three-piece sets. Designed to be used as a stand-alone system or integrated with other speakers, these sets combine two bookshelf or satellite speakers for midrange and higher tones with either a center-channel speaker or a subwoofer for bass.

Price range: 0 to 0.

Six-piece sets. These systems have four satellites (used for both the front and rear pairs), one center-channel speaker, and a subwoofer. Six-piece sets save you the trouble of matching the distinctive sounds of six speakers. That can be a daunting task at home, and even more of a challenge amidst the din of a store that doesn’t have a decent listening room.

Price range: 0 to more than ,000.

Other shapes and sizes. A “powertower” is a tower speaker, usually priced above ,000, with a side-firing, powered subwoofer in its base.

IMPORTANT FEATURES

Lovers of loud sound should pay attention to a speaker’s measured impedance, which affects how well the speaker and receiver get along. Power range refers to the advertised watts per channel. The wattage within a matched pair, front or rear, should be identical. Additionally, a speaker’s power range should exceed the watts per channel supplied by your receiver or amplifier. Speakers sold to be near a TV set typically have magnetic shielding so they won’t distort the picture with their core magnets.

HOW TO CHOOSE

Consider size. Speakers come in all shapes and sizes, so see how they’ll fit in your room. Floor-standing speakers might overwhelm smaller spaces. Bookshelf speakers are often a better fit. But some are quite large, so make sure a model you choose will fit the shelf or niche you’ve earmarked for it. And don’t fear that you’re giving up quality for compactness. Many small speakers do a fine job. Style may factor into your decision as well. Some speakers are sleekly shaped, with silver finishes. Others are more conventional black boxes.

Focus on accuracy, not advertising. The most critical attribute of any speaker is accuracy--the ability to reproduce sound frequencies without over-or under-emphasizing any part of the audio range. As our test have shown time and again, some of the lowest-priced speakers can be among the most accurate. Ads often tout two-way or three-way drivers and the size of the cone inside a speaker, but you can’t judge sound quality by these attributes.

Listen for the differences. Even speakers with comparable accuracy scores can sound quite different. One model may overemphasize treble, while another under-emphasizes it. There’s no substitute for hearing speakers, so bring a CD with a familiar piece of music to the store. Pay special attention to the front pair, because those speakers do the most work.

Speakers will sound different at home because of your room size, shape, and furnishings, so see if the retailer will allow a home trial or ask about the return policy. If you’re torn between two choices, buy the cheaper. Stores may be more open to a return if you want to trade up to a pricier set.

Check impedance. If you like to play music loudly, make sure your receiver is rated to handle the impedance (generally ranging from 4 to 8 ohms) of the front speaker pair.
